It’s taken me lockdown to finally start my blog…….

Hello world.

Images are how I try to understand this world. So, for my first blog, fewer words more images of how I saw and lived through lockdown.

Essentially, it was being back in my spiritual home of South Devon, United Kingdom. This is where I first started my series “Land@Work” in 2013. 7 years later, the images take on a powerful message. The Land and farmers carried on through out…. no furlough. This shows us how imperative it is to protect and promote our biodiversity and flag the loss of natural habitats, environments and wildlife in the United Kingdom.

The local village’s helpline was an extraordinary collection of people coming together to create a safe and supportive network for the most vulnerable. Along with 2 of my daughters, we did our best to answer calls and assist in any way we could. Rev Laura McAdam, was a force behind the concept. Her humour still has me smiling.

Dr Ian Hodgins, Buckfastleigh Medical Centre, is a much admired and loved member of the community and highly respected as their local doctor. Unknowingly, he had to treat me at the very beginning of lockdown. It is rare I get to meet people I photograph, so, this time I was at an advantage.
